FAQ

About ceramics & ceramics care

How are your pieces made?

All my pieces are made from high-quality white stoneware in my little studio. Once the piece is made, it dries for about 7-10 days (depending on the thickness and size of the piece). Then each piece is hand-painted and fired at approximately 1000 ºC (the firing process takes about 10 hours). After the first firing, the pieces are hand-glazed and undergo a glaze firing at Cone 6.

Are the pieces dishwasher and microwave safe?

Yes, all pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe, however I recommend hand washing to keep the colors perfect for years.

Are the pieces food-safe?

Yes, all the pieces are glazed with food-safe glaze and fired at high temperatures.

What are the dimensions of the pieces?

Product sizes and milliliter capacities are listed under each item in the online store, HOWEVER since all pieces are handmade and unique, there might be differences. Each piece is unique and slightly different due to its handmade nature.

Do you produce limited editions?

Yes, that's right. All products are limited edition, which means that once they are sold out, they will no longer be available (at least for a while). I release new collections once a month, and each month the products will be different.

Shipping info

Is international shipping available?

Yes. I ship worldwide.

How can you make sure your packaging is safe?

I take great care to ensure that every package is packed as securely as possible for delivery. Each item is first wrapped in corrugated paper, followed by cardboard and silk paper. The box is also filled with plenty of biodegradable packing "peanuts" to prevent the item from moving during transit.

I also use eco-friendly, natural materials as much as possible to minimize environmental impact.

Even though the items are securely packed and marked as fragile, damage during delivery can still occur. If this happens, I kindly ask you to send me an email at hello@meliaceramics.com as soon as possible, including photos of the damage as well as the packaging in which the item was shipped.
